Charlotte, June 2, 2016 – Hamilton Stephens Steele + Martin, PLLC (HSSM) has named a new co-managing Partner, Becky Cheney, to help lead the firm into the future.
The firm elected Becky Cheney to serve alongside George Sistrunk as the firm’s co-managing partner. Cheney takes on the role that David Hamilton, firm founder, filled previously. She will play a key role in the firm’s operations and management functions. Cheney has been a partner with the firm for the past 8 years, previously serving as counsel for Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

ONE Global Design Summit meets in Mexico to recap 2015, plan growth for 2016

ONE Global Design announced exceptional growth at their semi-annual executive meeting in February. Wes Jones and Kim Marks of ai Design Group — along with 31 principals representing 18 firms across the United States, Mexico, and Canada — met in Cancun, Mexico for a two-day conference. The event was hosted by ONE Global Design member, ZVA of Mexico City, Mexico.

Councilman Smith’s topic “District 6: Sub “Urban” The Evolution of a Dynamic Market Place” provided an update on one of the busiest districts in the City – the SouthPark area. He told us there is close to a billion dollars’ worth of development in SouthPark and along the Park Road corridor and discussed the recent and active rezoning petitions, trends, city vision, demographic trends, infrastructure and how Charlotte is impacted. The SouthPark area is clearly one of the faster growing areas in both the state and the country as Charlotte continues to be a leader in job growth. Councilman Smith’s knowledge as a commercial broker gives him a unique understanding and appreciation for his district’s direction.
