Join CREW Charlotte for its Alphabet Soup Networking event. Come network with colleagues from all of the local CRE Organizations! This year we will have karaoke again so be ready to sing! CREW Charlotte has an exciting upcoming volunteer opportunity at the Habitat Charlotte Region ReStore! Please see details and registration instructions below. WHEN: September 24, 2024 from 1 pm - 4 pm WHERE: 1133 N Wendover Road, Charlotte, NC 28211 WHO: You may invite non-CREW members to join you, but no one under 16 is eligible to volunteer WHAT: Volunteer groups typically help unload donated household items, organize, and clean the donations, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, and assist customers with carry-outs after purchase. October 2024 Luncheon: Inspiring Fireside Chat with April Simpkins on Mental Health and Suicide Awareness

April Simpkins, a powerhouse in mental health advocacy, holds certifications in QPR Suicide Prevention Training, Mental Health First Aid, and Emotional CPR. Following the passing of her daughter, Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst, who battled depression, April co-authored the deeply moving memoir, "By The Time You Read This: The Space Between Cheslie’s Smile and Mental Illness," already a New York Times Best Seller. In her programming, April shares insights from this story and mental health resources, aiming to support those grappling with mental illness.   About April April is a multi-certified HR Professional with 30 years of executive-level Human Resources experience. Shel is the Chief Human Resources Officer for Questco, a human resources services firm focused on supporting the HR needs of small- to midsized businesses. Prior to holding this role, April was a senior level HR consultant. In this role she helped over 1000 business owners shape and develop their human capital.
