USGBC Carolinas is collaborating with CREW Charlotte for a conversation around equity in the built environment celebrating Women in Green.
This year USGBC Women in Green celebrates Fresh Perspectives. With four generations in today’s workforce and a fifth entering within the next decade, women’s professional experiences are rich and varied. This diversity provides an excellent platform for collaborative solutions and inspiration, moving beyond traditional frameworks as we work to build on past successes to address pressing challenges in the built environment such as the urgent need for decarbonization, a focus on resilience, social equity outcomes, and advocating for bold public policies. Consider the possibilities of harnessing a wealth of fresh perspectives within reach. Imagine what we could do, create, or be with that volume of new perspectives.
USGBC Carolina’s panel discussion will focus on innovative sustainability practices and equity in the built environment, bringing together accomplished women who have excelled in the sustainability industry, with a specific emphasis on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) initiatives. The conversation will delve into the integral role women in the green workforce and tools like LEED credentials play in shaping the mindset of future leaders and preparing them for impactful careers in sustainable design and development.
We’re producing Women in Green in the Carolinas in collaboration with CREW – accelerating success for all women in commercial real estate globally. Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network is the industry’s premier business networking organization. CREW Charlotte was founded in 1990 and consists of a diverse group of professional women and men engaged in commercial real estate and related services industries. There are a wide range of disciplines represented within CREW Charlotte, including but not limited to, real estate brokers, attorneys, bankers and title industry professionals to engineers, developers, and architects.
Through this panel discussion, we aim to celebrate the accomplishments of women in green and sustainability, with a specific focus on their contributions to LEED. The conversation will not only inspire and guide the next generation of female leaders but also highlight the transformative potential of LEED programs in higher education for a more sustainable future.
