SUMMARY:CREW Charlotte Commonality Cohorts
DESCRIPTION:CREW Charlotte created commonalty cohorts to improve inclusion and belonging throughout the chapter. Commonalty cohorts are groups of members who either share a specific demographic commonality or are allies of the demographic.  The cohorts meet quarterly to discuss like-minded topics\, including collaborating on suggestions for improving CREW Charlotte\, and are facilitated by a DEI committee member. \nThis quarter\, the PWD cohort will meet on August 10th and Diana Palecek will facilitate a group discussion using the book “Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century” as the springboard. The book is thought-provoking and heart-wrenching.  All are welcome to attend and can participate in the discussion; reading the book is not required! For those interested in getting the book\, it can be purchased from Amazon:  Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century: Wong\, Alice: 9781984899422: Amazon.com: Books Sign up below! \nOn August 15th\, join us at 7th St. Station and grab a Hip Hop Smoothie for the PRISM cohort.  Come experience some of Charlotte’s BIPOC culture. This month’s topic will focus on how the BIPOC community can bring its cultural identity to work.  Check out this article and come join the discussion\, https://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article/how-to-bring-your-cultural-identity-to-work/. Please sign up below if you would like to participate in the discussion and have a beverage from Hip Hop Smoothie. \nPlease join your peers in the PRIDE Cohort at this year’s Charlotte Pride parade!  We have decided to walk in the parade this year to show our support for Charlotte PRIDE.  The parade is August 20th from 1-4 p.m.  Participants will need to arrive for staging by noon.  Please sign up below if you would like to participate as part of the CREW Charlotte crew! \nSign up for a CREW Commonality Cohort here! \n
